Good morning, Spalding County!

I'm a big lover of music. If you've ever had the experience of riding in my truck with the music on, you know my musical selection is all over the place. Country, classic rock, hip-hop, worship, electronic, movie soundtracks, even a little bluegrass when the mood strikes. I genuinely enjoy all genres, as long as it's a great song.

This week, my Spotify playlist has been heavily influenced by the Grapevine itself. You'll see in the WHAT'S HAPPENIN' section that the Prince of Egypt is being performed by the Camelot Theatre Company this weekend right here in Griffin. I grew up watching the animated movie on repeat, and just reading about that production flooded my brain with all those amazing tunes and memories. "When You Believe," "Deliver Us," "Through Heaven's Eyes," I've been singing them all week, much to my family's amusement (or annoyance, depending on who you ask).

Music is special as it ties itself to a moment in your life. A song comes on and suddenly you're ten years old again, sitting cross-legged on the living room floor. That's the magic of a good story set to music, and it's exactly what live theater in a town like ours delivers. I hope some of you get out to see the show this weekend and let those same memories wash over you.

THANKS!

Thanks for spending a few minutes with the Griffin Grapevine. My goal with this whole thing is pretty simple. I want to be the one email you can open twice a week and walk away knowing what's going on in Griffin and Spalding County, without having to hunt across a bunch of Facebook groups and news sites to find it.

The easiest way to help the Grapevine keep growing is to forward this to a friend, a neighbor, or that one family member who somehow knows every piece of town gossip before anyone else. There's a referral link up above, and here's the fun part: get three people to sign up through your link, and I'll feature you (or someone you love) with a birthday shoutout right at the top of the newsletter on the big day. Consider it a small thanks for being part of how this thing spreads.

And if something interesting is happening on your street, at your church, in your business, or at your kid's school, I'd genuinely love to hear about it. Reply to this email and it lands straight in my inbox. A lot of what ends up here starts with a reader simply saying, "hey, you should know about this."

Enjoy your weekend!
